The people of New York City voted in favor of term limits.  Within a short period of time,
a substantial percentage of city council members, as well as the mayor, would be new blood.
To help with this transition, a series of conferences, sponsored by the City Council,
Con Ed, CUNY, 1st Rochdale, Fund for the City of NY, NY Community Trust,
Real Estate Board of NY, and Verizon were held at Baruch College.

These comprehensive sessions educated incoming council members on many aspects of
legislative responsibilities and governance, and included a diverse group of speakers, from
former deputy mayors Brezenoff, Fife and Powers (pictured above left) to Valerie Harper (center),
petitioning on behalf of the arts. New council members (Charles Barron above right) had the
opportunity to ask questions and attend numerous workshops on everything from housing
concerns to ethical guidelines.
kokobaz provided multi-camera setups and staff for these
sessions, and will produce a set of dvd training material for future educational use.
